PROJECT CONTEXT

With the aim of boosting remembrance tourism, the town of Houffalize, with the help of The Overlap Factory, has created an augmented reality tour that allows visitors to relive key scenes from the Battle of the Ardennes, which devastated part of the town during World War II.

Using their smartphones, visitors begin the experience at the museum space in the town center, then follow a map to discover four additional points of interest. This tour retraces the town’s history and the people who played significant roles in the event, such as a British aviator, a surviving Belgian hero, and an American soldier who fell during the battle.
